The Cabin: Where Norwegians Roam
Norwegians are a strange people. We are obsessed with cabins. If we haven’t got one, we dream of getting one. If we’re not there we dream about being there. They range from humble abodes lacking electricity and water to luxurious structures every bit as comfortable as our homes. Still we go there to get out of the city, to go hiking and skiing and to live a simpler life closer to nature in the weekends and vacations.
I don’t own a cabin. Luckily some of my friends do. It’s in the mountains at an altitude of roughly 1000m/3200ft. A family heirloom having been gradually improved over decades. This gallery contains some glimpses of our time there.
